Welcome to First United Methodist Church of Rowlett

Many people enter the virtual doorway to the church here on the Web before coming through the actual doors. Either way, we extend the same welcome. We want you to feel at ease, look around, explore and ask questions.

As you explore this site or the church itself you will find First United Methodist Church of Rowlett (FUMC for short) to be an active community of faith. It's a large church when it comes to opportunities and a smaller church when it comes to feeling at home. Between 750 and 1000 people come to worship, study and serve each week.

Five opportunities for worship each week offer inspirational music (both traditional and contemporary) and Biblical teaching that is practical for today's world and today's families. Sunday morning classes are offered for all age groups as well as many study and support groups that meet throughout the week.

At FUMC you'll find a place to make life-long friends, while enhancing a life-long relationship with Christ.

One of the best ways to get a feel for any organization is to listen to what those who are new to the organization are saying. Following are some comments coming out of our regular "Meet the Pastor" fellowships for new and prospective members.

This church is not as close to our house as some others we tried but this is where we felt welcomed.

We fill up a whole pew most Sundays. We have three boys of our own but they like bringing friends almost every week.

I was raised in the Catholic Church and my husband was a Baptist, here in the United Methodist Church we found an acceptance of our backgrounds and beliefs that we both could share.

We discovered the Soul Café for the first time when a greeter gave us a coupon for breakfast and showed us where it was located. Now we just come a little early and have breakfast with friends.
